What Is an Inside Mount?

An inside mount, also called a recess fit, positions the plantation shutter inside the window recess instead of on the wall or architrave in front of it.

Overview

An inside-mounted shutter can use either an inside L-frame or a Z-frame. It typically produces the most recessed finished look because the shutter sits back inside the opening.

To use an inside mount, you need enough usable recess depth for the frame and louvres. As a general guide, around 70 mm of clear depth is ideal, but window handles, locks, winders, flyscreens and inward-opening sashes must all be considered.
