Fitting Plantation Shutters into Brick
Brick and masonry installation uses the same alignment principles as any shutter installation, but the fixings and drilling method need to suit masonry.
Select the right fixing
Use masonry-rated screws, plugs or anchors suitable for the brick or concrete you are fixing into and the loads involved. Follow the fixing manufacturer’s instructions.
Mark before drilling
Position the shutter frame, check it is square and mark fixing points through the frame. Keep holes clear of fragile edges where possible.
Drill accurately
Use the correct masonry bit and drill depth. Clear drilling dust before inserting plugs or anchors.
Pack and tighten gradually
Masonry openings can be out-of-square. Use suitable packers behind fixing points so tightening a screw doesn’t pull the frame out of square.
Re-confirm the panels
After the frame is secure, hang the panels and check alignment before fitting finishing caps.
