Should I Inside or Outside Mount My Shutters?
If the window opening has a sufficiently deep and unobstructed recess, an inside mount is typically the first option to consider. If the recess is shallow or window hardware occupies the needed space, an outside mount is often the better solution.

Overview
As a general guide, around 70 mm of usable clearance is ideal for an inside mount. Measure from the front of the recess to the furthest obstruction instead of to the glass alone.
Select an outside mount when the shutter or louvres would otherwise collide with handles, winders, flyscreens or an inward-opening window, or where there is no usable recess.
If the decision isn’t obvious, photograph the window from the front and side and include a clear view of the hardware and recess depth before releasing the order.
